Obituary of George Raso
RASO, George Geza – Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, surrounded by family at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, ON.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Ilona (nee Ferenc), his son Joseph (Lorraine), and his grandchildren Claire and Sophie.
He was always tremendously thankful for his close-knit family, and in Canada, he is survived by his brother Gabriel, nephews Frank (Anne) and John, nieces Helen (Randy) and Elizabeth, as well as many treasured grand nephews and nieces.
Cremation has taken place. Benner Funeral Services has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
A private family service to honour George’s life will take place on Saturday, January 18th, followed by a rite of Committal at Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate his life at the Black Creek Community Association, 2959 Baker Rd. Stevensville, ON, L0S 1S0, from 1 pm to 4:30 pm on Saturday, January 18th.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The UN Refugee Agency, Diabetes Canada, Alzheimer Society of Canada, and Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, and would be appreciated by his family.
