It is with great sadness and with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved George Apostolou on January 20th, 2025.
George was born on February 7th, 1967 in Toronto. A loving son to Venetia and his late father Vasilios and a protective big brother to Peter, George also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and loved ones.
George had a deep passion for sports and was a huge supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and The Buffalo Bills. He was not only a wrestling fanatic but was also a former WWF wrestler and went by the ring name Apollo The Greek. He enjoyed and frequently watched movies at the theatre with his brother Peter and knew about all the newest releases. Part of George’s daily routine was going to Tim Horton’s with Peter and testing his luck on ProLine.
George had an infectious smile and laugh and would regularly call his family and friends to catch up and make sure they were well.
George fought Diabetes with great strength and determination the last few years and was on Dialysis for the last nine months. His personality brightened the day for the nurses treating him and the other patients around him during treatments. On January 20th George passed while surrounded and in the loving embrace of his family.
George will always be remembered for his greater than life personality, his smile, distinctive laughter and his big heart.
