It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Geneviève Williamson announces her passing on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, at the age of 92 years, with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Williamson in 2012. Cherished mother of Linda Sagle (Lance) of Hanmer, Alan (Michelle) of Shawinigan, QC, Lucille Colard (Dean) of South Baymouth, Brian (Corrie) of Val Caron, Patsy Vitiello (Enzo) of Val Caron and Diane Pharand (Marc) of Val Caron. She will be forever in the hearts of her 14 grandchildren and their families: Jonathan, Valerie, Angela, Shawn, Adrien, Jason, Jennifer, Daniel C., Kayla, Christopher, Matthew, Stephanie, Daniel M. and Courtney, as well as her 24 great-grandchildren. Geneviève is also survived by her sister Victorine Lavoie (late Jean) of Fredericton, NB. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Savoie and her mother Rosaria Savoie as well as her sister Annyne Savoie (late Jean-Charles Guité) and her brother Théo Savoie (late Elva).
Geneviève moved to Sudbury in 1955 from St-Omer, Québec, shortly after marrying Lawrence, who had obtained employment with Inco. They bought their first home in McCrea Heights in 1960, where they raised their 6 children and where she lived for 61 years. In 2021, she moved to Red Oak Villa where she made many friends.
Geneviève will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and her deep love for her family. She cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to her yearly trips to the Gaspé area with her husband, visiting their many relatives. Geneviève enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, and baking. She was particularly passionate about weaving, sharing her talent and knowledge with many friends and family. Her beautiful creations will be treasured for many years to come. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial Visitation at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Dr., Hanmer on Friday, March 28th, 2025, from 7pm to 9pm. Memorial Mass will be held at Paroisse Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, 4290 Regional Rd. 80, Val Thérèse, on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at 10am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
