Obituary of Gail Ann Manning
Gail Ann Manning (Wannamaker)
January 6, 1951 – February 9, 2025
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gail Manning (Wannamaker) following a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on the palliative care unit at Peterborough Regional Health Center.
Gail was born in Simcoe Ontario to the late John (Rod) and Olive Wannamaker (Whitehead). Gail attended Lakefield High School followed by completing her RN training through Peterborough Civic Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1971. Throughout her career she worked at Civic, Dufferin and Red Deer Regional Hospital’s, retiring following 30+ years of service.
Gail loved cooking and baking making family dinners and spending time with her family. The house was always full of music, family and friends and that was the way she liked it best.
Gail is survived by her husband and soulmate of 54 years, Randy, daughter Stephanie Hatton and son Ryan (Lori) Manning. She will be greatly missed by grandchildren Zachary and Katelyn Hatton, Caelan Booth and Liam and Lily Manning. Sister’s Susan (Gord) Florence and Jane Adachi. She is predeceased by brother Fred Charlton. Gail leaves behind many brothers/sisters in law and nieces and nephews who will miss her presence at family gatherings, especially her pies.
Memorial donations to the Peterborough Cancer Clinic would be appreciated by the family.
