Donoghue,
Gail Judith Ann, age 83, of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, passed away on
January 7, 2025, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish.
Born in
Ottawa, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Harry and Dorothy
Catherine (Harris) Provost.
Gail was a
loving wife, devoted mother and amazing sister. She
had a successful career with the Bank of Nova Scotia and afterwards as
a successful Realtor in Ottawa and Toronto. She was
a talented seamstress, gardener and a natural home decorator. Gail was
known for her vibrant, fiesty spirit and along with her beloved
husband Tom, treasured the many friends they made travelling &
living across Canada, Europe & the
Caribbean.
She is
survived by her children, Catherine Meery (Darrell), Antigonish, NS;
Steve Donoghue (Gerri), Halifax, NS; grandchildren, Adam (Bettina),
California; Daniel (P.J.), Toronto, ON; Caitlyn (Ben),
Halifax, NS; great-grandchildren, Stella, Rosie, and Kane; and
siblings, Lynn Dunn (Bruce Winterbon), Deep River, ON; Darlene Provost
(Lewis MacKenzie), Ottawa, ON; Nancy Haché (Brian),
Bucerias, Mexico; and Maureen Prubant (Michel), Ottawa,
ON.
Predeceased
by her husband, Tom, just four short months ago, and her brother,
Michael in 2009.
Cremation has
taken place. A celebration of Gail’s life will be held on
Thursday, August 7, 2025, in C.L. Curry Funeral Home at
10:00am. The service will be streamed live on the funeral
home website.
