It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick Pond announce his passing on January 5, 2025, at the Dr. Y.K. Jeon Kittiwake Brookfield Health Centre, New Wes Valley at the age of 84.
Fred was raised in Durrell and involved with the Pentecostal Church in Twillingate all his life. He enjoyed playing and teaching guitar. He met and married the love of his life, Netta Wells of Seldom, in 1967.
Fred is predeceased by his parents Edward and Mona Pond, his parents in law Cecil and Eliza Wells, his siblings Althea (Cyril), Daisy (Max), Louise (Stratt), Jack, Alma (Jack) and Arthur (Marie), his beautiful grand daughter Melody Fudge.
Fred leaves to mourn with precious memories his loving wife Netta, his daughter Mona (Willie) Fudge, his sons Danny (Jackie), Edward (Tracy), Wayne (Michelle), Edgar (Audra), Laurie (Wendy). Fred also leaves to mourn 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his sister-in-law Louise Pond, and Netta’s 8 brothers and 1 sister, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Dr. Y.K. Jeon Kittiwake Brookfield Health Centre, New Wes Valley for the excellent care during his short stay. The doctors and staff at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Center, Twillingate for the continuous care over the last years.
Also special thanks to his Home Care Workers who he loved dearly, Darlene, Madeline, Colleen and Jackie.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery Fund.
