Frederick Ralph “Fred” Kerr
1946-2025
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Frederick
Ralph “Fred” Kerr, 78, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in the
Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by his
family.
Born in Port Williams, Fred was a son of the late John and
Elsie (Blackburn) Kerr.
Fred worked for Michelin Tire for several years, drove truck
for Irving Oil, and prior to his retirement was a dedicated
Commissionaire at Colchester East Hants Hospital in Truro, where he
served the community with great care and commitment. Upon retirement
he worked at Walmart in Digby. Fred’s contributions were
appreciated by all who knew him, and he will be remembered for his
kindness, professionalism, and the positive impact he made in his work
and beyond.
Fred is survived by his wife, Ann (Weaver); daughters, Dawn
Kerr, Kentville, and Joann (Michael) Henderson, Truro; granddaughters,
Jordyn and Meghan Henderson, Truro; sisters, Marjorie Craig, Campbell
River, BC; Marie Brown, Bedford; Carol (Keith) Ring, Plympton; many
nieces, nephews and extended family members. Fred will be lovingly
missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was predeceased by sisters, Doris Kerr and Helen
“Ruth” Illsley; brothers, Wilfred “Bub”, Robert
and an infant brother, Norman.
Cremation has already taken place, and in keeping with Fred’s
wishes, there will be no public service. Donations in memory may be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one’s
choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online condolences and
