Obituary
ASMA, Frederick William – Peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (2015). Loving father of Michael, John (Maura), Kelly (Martin Sommers), all of London and Peter (Leslie) of Mississauga. Beloved grandfather of Thomas, Michael and Molly Asma, Thomas W. Sommers and Riley and Anthony Asma. Predeceased by his siblings. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Fred grew up in the east end of Hamilton, playing hockey and baseball. He moved to London and was a proud graduate of the University of Western Ontario. He met his lifelong love Barb Moriarity at Western and married in 1962. He was a nurturing grandfather and fixture at London hockey arenas for decades. Visitation on Monday, March 17 from 6-8 pm at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond. The funeral will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Parish, 511 Cheapside St., on Tuesday, March 18 at 11 am, with visitation in the church the hour prior from 10-11 am. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the St. Joseph’s Heath Care Foundation would be appreciated.
