Passed away on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, in his 90th year, in the arms of his beloved wife May of 67 years. Cherished father of Laura (Jean-Raphaël) and Steve (Cherish), proud grandfather of Oona. Pre-deceased by his incredible sister Wynne (Bill), his brother Wilmer and sister Louise.
Dedicated to the wellbeing of his family, to the love of his life whom he met on the school bus to high school, and to his two children and their families. Extremely humane, curious of life, with a very fine sense of humour, he was an individual with immense respect for others which extended naturally to include the public interest and society as a whole. This outlook on life led to what was a tireless commitment to the administration of justice in Ontario for an incredible half a century as a veteran Assistant Crown Attorney in Toronto and North York. With a legendary reputation as one of the top criminal litigators in the province, he was known for unquestionable integrity and ethics. Possessing an unparalleled work ethic, he was fearless in his commitment to that which was right. This made him a natural leader, teacher and mentor, including his devotion as editor of the Crown Attorney’s Newsletter for 22 years, pre-internet, in order to provide recent caselaw to crown attorneys and members of the criminal bar across the country.
Memorial donations to Headwaters Health Care Centre would be appreciated by the family.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Funeral Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre 21 First St Orangeville, Ontario on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 at 11:30 am.
A tree will be planted in memory of Frank in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
