Frank Alfieri Obituary
With saddened hearts we announce the loss of A Wonderful Man…
In his 84th year, Franco Joseph Alfieri suddenly passed away on Sunday April 6, 2025.
Loving Companion and Partner for the last 2 years, May Sweenor’s kindness and love for Frank was steadfast and comforting to all his family. They found a new interest in bowling, dancing and shuffleboard and together they belonged to the French Golden Age Club.
Frank leaves behind his Children Anna (Brent Pirson), Christina and David (Tracy).
Much loved Grandfather to Ethan (Rebecca), Curtis, Adalaina, Amira, Johnathon, Damien and Evan, and Great Grandfather to the sweetest boys, Henry and Caleb. Also survived by Brother Bruno (Linda) in Denmark, his extended family in Toronto and Italy as well as the Chevrette side. He was well loved by many.
Predeceased by his Parents Giuseppe & Maria Alfieri and his 1st true love and Wife, Alice Irene Alfieri (Nee Chevrette).
Frank was born in Castropignano, Italy and came to Canada at the age of 9.
He built a beautiful life and home in Port Colborne and was proud to be a Canadian.
A valued employee of INCO in the Precious Metals Department and a Dedicated Volunteer Firefighter (#19), both for over 40 years.
He had a love and passion for coaching and refereeing hockey & soccer.
Many times you could catch Frank walking all over Port Colborne or visiting with friends at his favorite Tim Hortons. He was a very easy gentle kind soul who loved life every minute.
He surrounded himself with great people who best referred to him as “ALFIE”.
Frank’s wishes were very simple… “Don’t cry for me, raise a glass and toast a fond farewell!”
The Alfieri family wishes to extend sincerest thanks to the 911 Dispatcher, Paramedics, Police Officer and the ever faithful Port Colborne Fire Department, as well as the Welland Hospital Emergency Department for all of their valiant efforts shown towards Frank and for allowing his family to surround him in the final moments.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 11, 2025 at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 375 Main Street, Port Colborne at 1 p.m. with Father Peter Walton as Celebrant. There will be a private interment of cremated remains at a later date.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
