Illsley, Frank Alan, Jr. It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Frank Illsley (Junior), age 61 announce his passing on December 26th, 2024, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst, NS. He was the son of Frank Evans Illsley and the late Carolyn Grace Walker.
Frank worked for many years at his father’s truss shop before moving to Moncton where he worked for NAPA in shipping and receiving. He was at his best when he was busy, and like his mother and sister Ann, he was happiest working in the flower garden. His father was the person he leaned on most. He had a special connection with his sister Ann, they talked frequently and remained close throughout the years until her passing. Frank was especially proud of his special niece Krista Hauschild, who now resides in South Carolina. Frank stayed close to long-time friends Mike and Bonnie, Carolyn and Rejeanne and always made a point to visit them when he came to the Valley.
He always enjoyed the trips his family made to visit him in Moncton and then later in Amherst. There was always homecooked food and lots of laughs. While living in Moncton he formed a second family, David, Troy, Gail, Christina and Ruth. They became his support group when he was diagnosed with cancer. He would not have been able to enjoy the life he did the last couple of years without them. He is survived by his father Frank (Marianne), sisters Myleta (Arnie) and Jane (Brad), nieces and nephews: Karen (Joe), Marty (Amanda), Amy (Aleem), Krista (Rick), Wayne, Jennifer, Jeremy (Lynn), and great nieces and a nephew. Frank was predeceased by his mother Carolyn and his sister Ann.
Frank’s family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center for the wonderful care he received. We would like to especially thank David and Gail for all they did in his final days. We know it meant everything to him, and it meant so much to us. Your care and kindness will be remembered.
