Frances “Fran” Barnes
(August 4, 1934 – March 4, 2025)
Sadly, we announce the passing of our mother Fran (Mullin) Barnes at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Born in Miramichi to parents Leo and Sarah (McNeil) Mullin. Left to mourn are sons Danny (Susan), Kevin (Kim), Gary, and daughter Donna LeBlanc (Dan); grandchildren Jessica (Rick), Emily (Adam), Matthew (Cindy), Nick (Kelsie), and Vanessa (Rob); great-grandchildren Skylar, Cassidy, Quinn, Ava, Ella, Emily, Sophie, Eli and Maverick. Also survived by one brother Bernard, many nieces and nephews with whom she was very close, and extended family on the Barnes side.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years Donald Barnes, grandson Justin LeBlanc, daughter-in-law Carole Amos-Darby, and 12 siblings.
She was employed with Eaton’s, Sears, and for many years was Nanny Fran to Zachary and Margo Dallaire, with whom she had a special relationship. Mom loved spending time at the camp with our Dad. It was a second home to them. In her younger years, she had a passion for knitting, sewing, and making clothes for the family.
We would like to thank the people at the Moncton Residence who were kind and helpful to Mom; also, the doctors and nurses at the Moncton Hospital for their compassion and kindness
Relatives and Friends are invited to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road (506-858-1995) Moncton for a visitation on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. A Service to Celebrate and Honor Fran’s Life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 10:30 am. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment to be held in Fair Haven Cemetery.
