Frances Evelyn Weber ( Nee Kinsie)
Nov. 18th 1930 – Feb.24th 2025
Survived by her son Kent Weber (Cynthia Weber) of Bluewater, daughter In law Dianne Gingrich (Marvin Gingrich) of North Perth, grandchildren Tyler Gingrich (Lindsay Gingrich) of Howick, Spencer Weber (Jenni Weber) of Lucan-Biddulph, Kayla Vandenberg (Mitchell Vandenburg) of Mapleton, Brayden Gingrich of Kelowna, and great grandchildren Levi, Theo, Rosa, Violet and Felix.
Predeceased by her husband of 51 years Nyle Edwin Weber (1931-2003), son Jeffery Ross Weber (1960-1988) grandson Justin Weber (1987), great grandson Myles Vandenburg (2022), her brothers and their wives Alex and Alice Kinsie, Archie and Nelly Kinsie, and her parents Morice and Pearl Kinsie (nee Weber).
Frances was born in the Kinsie house located in Breslau, ON. As a child she attended the Riverbank School and Breslau Mennonite Church.
In 1952 she married Nyle Weber, also of Breslau, and settled on a small farm between Kitchener and Guelph. They adopted their son Jeffery Ross in 1960, and three years later their youngest son Kent Leroy.
In 1967 the family of four moved to an acerage on the 12th concession of Brant Township near Chesley, ON where they bred and milked purebred Holstein cattle. It was during these years that Frances’ skill and interest in agriculture and preserving flourished. The native trees she planted on that farm still stand today and her hand written recipe book is routinely referenced by her family. She was an avid piano player who enjoyed playing hymns and gospel songs. She had a unique interest in geography and particularly enjoyed a driving trip with Nyle in the late 90’s covering the prairie provinces and northern United States.
Frances was unapologetically un-fussy, a woman of the Mennonite faith who would willingly disclose she loved her lord but also wasn’t above arguing with him. Her quick wit, beaming smile and school girl giggle will never be forgotten by those who knew her best, nor will her loyalty and grit as a woman who found herself in unthinkable tragedy no mother or wife should have to face. Such difficult times may have tested Frances but they would not define her character as she lead a fulfilling and happy life right through her golden years undoubtedly earning her the moniker of a Great-Grandmother. She “didn’t want anyone to have to fuss over her”.
At Frances’ request Cremation has taken place. A private family committal service will take place at a later date. Donations in Frances’ name to the Huron County Hospice are graciously accepted.
