In loving memory of Frances Colleen Rinta (née McColeman), 89 years who passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Pioneer Manor. Beloved wife of Edvin Rinta predeceased. Loving mother of Kathy Hine (Rick), Nancy Palmer (Scott) and Aileen Rickard. Cherished grandmother of Geoffrey Hine, Danielle Picard (Mark), Courtney Picard (Ian), Matthew Rickard (Chealsey), Liam Rickard (Courtney), and Dana Rickard. She was especially delighted to meet her great-grandchildren Elena and Jolene. Dear daughter of Frank and Lila McColeman both predeceased. Colleen aka “Cobbs” was the eldest out of 6 siblings; sister of Gerald McColeman (Judy) both predeceased, Phoebe Cliff (Robert predeceased), Gary McColeman, Doug McColeman (Karen) and Sandy McColeman. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Colleen grew up in Minnow Lake and she was a dedicated employee for over 40 years at Canadian Tire where she met the love of her life Edvin. She loved her job and was proud of her work there. She loved spending time at her camp on Deer Lake with her family, where she could often be seen cleaning algae off of the rocks, paddle boating with one her grandkids, tending to her garden or napping on the couch. Colleen passed on a love of reading to many of her family members with a habit of collecting and lending out as many books as she could. She enjoyed a chilled glass of white wine, a good cheeseburger and a slice of Black Forest cake.
The family would like to give a huge thank you to the staff at Pioneer Manor in Sudbury, with an extra special thanks to Olga for their care and treatment of our dear Colleen.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, cremation has already taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin Chapter would be appreciated.
