FORD, Stephen Graham
January 14, 1957 — January 27, 2025
With the passing of Stephen Graham Ford – beloved father, brother, grandfather, and connoisseur of the great outdoors, the world doesn’t seem as bright. Born in Vancouver, BC, on a damp January day in 1957, Steve took his leave at the age of 68 on January 27, 2025, at Kelowna General Hospital.
Steve’s memory will be carried on by his children, Pam (Amos) Spector and Stewart Ford; his grandchildren Isiah and Charlotte; his siblings Jane (Gordon) Mackie, Ted (Carmen) Ford, Stan (Monica) Ford, and Sandy (Vicky) Ford. He will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, especially grandnephew Morgan Schrader.
Steve’s affections were many, and though his heart held unending love for his family, it also harboured a deep devotion to fishing, camping, and the noble pursuit of fresh air unspoiled by modern interference. His literary inclinations also veered towards the adventurous – James Patterson, Lee Child, and Stephen King providing him with ample material. A man of melody, Steve both played and enjoyed the bagpipes, as a pastime. In summation, Steve Ford was, as those who knew him would say, an “all-round good guy” – a phrase that, while simple, encapsulates the kind of rare individual he was. If the world had more Steves, there would be more fish stories, more laughter, and certainly more bagpipe solos in unexpected places. He will be deeply missed.
