Florence Leone O’Neill
With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Florence Leone O’Neill (nee Foster) on February 15th, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family.
Born to Marion (nee Spencer) and Wilson Foster. She was a devoted sister to Kathy Breau (Larry), Brian Foster (predeceased by his wife, Margot), and Joanne Foster, cherishing the bonds that connected them.
Florence shared a beautiful life with her husband, David O’Neill, with whom she built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they raised their three sons, Connor (Allison), Darcy (Kaitlyn), and Liam (Katie), who were the absolute pride of her life. Her love and dedication only grew with the arrival of her beloved grandchildren: Finley, Ozzie, Bridget, Imogen, and Lily.
Florence was a woman of remarkable strength, boundless energy, and a heart that knew no limits. She embraced life with vibrancy, always putting others before herself. Whether cheering on her family, working tirelessly, or sharing her wisdom and warmth, she was a guiding light to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that will be carried forward by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched. Though she has left this world, her spirit remains ever-present in the laughter of her grandchildren and the countless memories shared with those who loved her.
A gathering to celebrate Florence’s life will be held at Lakeshore Recreation in Port Elgin on Saturday, February 22nd from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honour to the Brightshores Foundation for Cancer Care. brightshoresfoundation.ca/donate/
Her home was always full of love, and in her final moments, that love surrounded her. May she rest in peace, knowing she was cherished beyond measure.
