Florence Audrey Smith – 85, North River, passed
away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Colchester East Hants
Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late
Harry and Lottie (McNutt) Cavanaugh.
Florence is survived by her husband, Wayne; sons, Larry
Cavanaugh (Heather Bigelow), North River; Cory Smith (Kelly Gosby),
Onslow Mountain; grandson, Demetry Gosby-Stewart, Onslow Mountain
(Emma Turtscher, Crowes Mills); great grandson, Miles Gosby-Stewart,
Crowes Mills; brother, Dean Cavanaugh, Debert; sisters, Marilyn Gilby,
Dora Smith, Truro; sisters-in-law, Colleen Whidden, Margaret
Cavanaugh, North River; brother-in-law, Donald Reid, Truro; special
niece, Angela Cameron, Wentworth; several nieces and
nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters,
Hazel Cavanaugh in infancy; Gail Reid; brothers, Larry Cavanaugh,
Leonard Cavanaugh (Claudia Langille), Delmar Cavanaugh, Layton
Cavanaugh; parents-in-law, Rod and Thelma Smith.
Private interment will be held at a later date in North River
Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Florence’s memory to
North River Cemetery are welcomed.
