Obituary of Evelyn Dafoe
Evelyn Dafoe (Ireland), of London, Ontario, passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2025, at the age of 82. She was a dearly beloved and devoted wife to Ted Dafoe; sister of Jack (Mary) Ireland; dedicated mother of Gerry, Darcy (Denise), and Krista Dafoe; and a proud and unconditionally loving grandmother to Brendan, Allyson, Keenan, Callum, and Quinlan Dafoe.
Born on October 3rd, 1942, Evelyn was the daughter of the late John “Wilfred” and Marjorie (Walker) Ireland. Evelyn was a hairstylist and stay-at-home mother to her three children, though she would also help Ted with administrative work in the office at their electrical business in Lambeth. In addition to this, Evelyn was an incredibly skilled seamstress – having repaired many a worn stuffed animal – and excelled at needlework-related activities, such as quilting, knitting, and cross-stitch. Her house, and those of her children and grandchildren, remain decorated with her beautiful work.
Friends may visit the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S., Lambeth, on Friday, February 7th, 2025, from 6-8 pm. A private family celebration of Evelyn’s life and the interment of her ashes in the Avon Cemetery will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in Evelyn’s name, or to Littlewood United Church, where Evelyn and Ted have been faithful members. Online condolences are available through the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home website (www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca).
