Evelyn Clement, one of God’s Angels on earth, born January 19th, 1932 gained her Heaven Angel wings on April 16th, 2025, at the spirited age of 93.
Evelyn began as a cashier, for which she won the Regional Checker of the Year Award in 1961 and was celebrated in Chicago with her cohorts from Canada and the United States. Her excellent customer service skills and leadership abilities propelled her to become the General Manager of all Mike’s Foodstores. She was a pioneer of enterprise, creating and operating one of the first women’s businesses in Timmins, Eve’s Style Shoppe. She and her co-owner Yvette Thibeault helped women throughout Northern Ontario and Timmins look and feel their best for everyday and special occasions alike, while ushering in a staff entirely made up of women, seizing the opportunity to advance the importance of women in the workplace.
She gave her very best to everyone and everything she knew and filled this world with Love, Strength, Compassion and Kindness.
She is predeceased by her beloved parents, Aurore and Mathias Clement, sister Georgette Roy, brother Cleo Clement, brother-in-law Jean Roy, grandnephew Jean Gregory Philps, and cousin Viola Gravel.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her best friend of more than 75 years, Yvette Thibeault, her sister-in-law Yolande Clement, her nephews Jean Roy (Maryanne Roy) and Cleo Clement, her nieces Louise Roy (Greg Philps), and Michelle Clement, her grandnephews and grandnieces, Jean-Charles Roy, Lynne Roy, Cloé Clement, and Matt Philps, her great-grandnephews Leland and Drake Lacroix, her great-grandnieces Emilie Lacroix and Isabella Roy, and an amazing group of caregivers who have been totally devoted in their love and caring for her, and for whom Evelyn was profoundly grateful.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday May 9, 2025 at 11am at Notre Dame de la Paix Church, 288 Commercial Avenue, Timmins.
Remembrance donations to the Timmins Food Bank would be greatly appreciated. Funeral and Cremation services have been entrusted with Maison funéraire LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre.
