Evelyn Cecilia Talbot passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Feb. 19th, 2025 at the age of 80. Born in Mulgrave, she remained there throughout most of her life, where she formed deeper roots, built a family, and developed a strong connection with her community.
Evelyn spent her years nurturing and loving her family, dedicating herself to raising children and cherishing the role of grandmother. She took great pride in watching her grandchildren grow and learn, providing endless support and affection. Her love for them was immeasurable, and she leaves behind many cherished memories.
A true animal lover, Evelyn had a deep connection with cats, always finding joy in their companionship and ensuring they were loved and well cared for. She was also an active member in the community prior to the years leading up to her passing, and enjoyed activities that brought people together. Whether it was a game of cards or a night of bingo, Evelyn was always ready to make new friends and cultivate her lasting friendships. She will be sorely missed and happily remembered.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and James Talbot; her brothers Larry, James and Wally; sisters Alice, Mary and Lucy, and her great grandson Jaxon Brophy. She is survived by her children, Colette (John) Rowlands, John (Shannon) Bouchie, Russell Bouchie, Lawrence (Wilma) Bouchie, Barbara (Jim) Bouchie, Trisha Bouchie, Donald (Jackie) Bouchie, Ken (Jennifier) Bouchie, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family of Evelyn will receive visitors on Friday, Feb 21st between 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. The funeral will be held at 11am on Saturday, Feb 22nd at St. Paul’s Parish Church. Donations can be made to Naomi Society or the Transition House Association of Nova Scotia.
