Obituary For Eve Louise Bouchard (nee Siegfries)
April 2, 1944 – February 18, 2025
Eve Louise Bouchard (nee Siegfries) slipped from this world into the arms of Angels to Our Lord on February 18, 2025.
With heavy hearts, yet grateful souls we are saddened to announce the passing of Our Rock, Our Most Cherished Mother and Grandmother, Eve Louise Bouchard, whose love and support fully encompassed us all…
Born in Codesa, Alberta, Eve’s life, like so many of her generation, began on a farm. When she was a young little girl, she even had a pet chicken that was so special to her- she would tie a pretty ribbon around her neck. She met her husband Joseph in Eaglesham while she was a waitress at the local cafe. They met, fell in love, were married, and started a family. Our family moved from Tangent, Alberta, to Mackenzie, BC. The mountains and community made mom so vibrant and full of life. When our father passed away in 1975, mom was only 31 years old. She then stood alone to face life challenges to raise us boys and in doing so has made us grateful and proud to this day! Mom said she loved one man in her life, and no one would ever replace him, and she stayed true to that.
A pillar of strength, reliant on none, fiercely private and independent, mom was there for anyone in need. She was strong and most selfless by nature. She loved, or tried to love everyone, and was willing to go out of her way to show it in whatever manner she could.
While very young herself, she took on the role of a mom to her sister Marva Martin who was very special in her heart and loved deeply by mom, which perhaps helped shape mom’s very nature out of the need to ensure a better life for her little sister.
Mom was a very hard worker, excellent cook and unmatched baker capable of serving great numbers of family and friends through multiple courses all alone and enjoying it while she did.
Mom worked numerous different occupations over the years in food service at all levels and made many great friendships. None more important than her best friend Dorothy Mondor along with her husband Alex, and not to forget Debbie Steeves whom she loved, respected and trusted entirely, and was also the daughter she never had.
We feel her years of devoted service and supervision while at Heritage Lodge until retirement was what she was very proud of. To care and serve others with great compassion and pride was second nature to her.
After retirement, she greatly enjoyed living with her sister Charlotte and brother-in-law Rodney Young at the River Road Bed & Breakfast and enjoyed helping them. During her final years she made a lot of acquaintances with people all over the world and they were even lucky enough to sample her famous Butter Tarts.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Bouchard and many extended family members.
Mom is survived by her sons, Maxx (Deborah) Bouchard, and Lance (Nicole) Bouchard, grandchildren Mackenzie, Gabrielle, Jaime Duckworth, Justin Plamondon, Nicholas Plamondon, Nathan Plamondon, Joshua, Alexander, Christian, and Zacke1y. She is also survived by sisters Marva and Charlotte, and brothers Danyl and Bernie. She will be remembered with love by many extended in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
It would be impossible to list the names of all who touched her and whom she held a special place in her heart for. If you see this and feel what has been said is true, if you remember her with love, you are included and indeed loved by her.
Special thanks to the Dr. Angela Barreth, Nurses and staff of Prairie Lake Hospice.
In keeping with mom’s wishes there will be no public service. Cremation has already taken place and her ashes in time will be interred with her husband Joseph Bouchard.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in mom’s memory.
