Ernest Sohm Obituary
Ernie Sohm of South River, Ontario, passed away peacefully in Owen Sound, Ontario, on January 9, 2025, at the age of 86.
He has gone to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Ernie is lovingly remembered by his wife Gail Sohm; his daughters Marilyn McCue (David) and Marlene Quinton (Phil) and his cherished grandchildren Sarah McCue, Emily McCue (Kane), Jake Quinton, and Jamie Quinton. He is also survived by his siblings June Mannella, Lillian McKee, and Ray Sohm, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, many caring friends, and Mark Mandawoub who Ernie cherished as a son.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Amy Sohm, and his siblings Betty Bigelow, Gloria Casselman, and Ilene Aikens.
Ernie grew up in South River. Over his life, he lived and worked in various communities across Canada as a dedicated Radio Inspector, a career that took him to many places and introduced him to countless people. He spent most of his life in North Bay, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cheering on the Leafs. Ernie had a gift for connecting with others, often over a meal or coffee at Tim Hortons while sharing his his love of Jesus.
Ernie’s faith in Jesus Christ was central to his life and guided him throughout his journey. He will be deeply missed by all who know him but fondly remembered for the love he shared with family and friends alike.
May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.

Visitation will be held at Higher Heights Christian Fellowship Church, 79 Ottawa Ave, South River, on Wednesday January 15th from 12:30 pm until service time at 2 pm.
