Obituary of Ernest “Ernie” Henri Marchand
Our hearts are broken and filled with great sadness as we announce our families’ greatest treasure and most loved patriarch has earned his wings to join his other loved ones. Our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and best friend Ernie Marchand left us Friday, January 24, 2025 lovingly surrounded by family just one month shy of sharing his 88 years with us.
Ernie’s greatest passion was his love of family. They were his everything; they were his world. Ernie loved telling his life stories and we will all miss his ‘infectiously positive, sunny disposition’. He always wore his infectious smile and loved to laugh. His ingenuity was second to none. Ernie’s creativity was at times beyond imagination. He was that infectious, compassionate person that led so many people to say, “I loved your dad like my own.” “Always welcoming, always loving and always funny.” His loss will undoubtedly be felt by many. Our hearts are truly broken.
Ernie is predeceased by his loving wife Christine. Ernie is lovingly missed by his children Dan (Julie), Janice Huson (Ric), Catherine (Dan), Annette, Cyndi Gryp, sister Annette Havens and son-in-law Rick Krzemien. Also survived by sisters-in-law Mae Marchand, Marilyn Marchand and brother-in-law Aurele Tellier. Also, much loved and missed by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Ernie has rejoined with his other family namely parents Remi and Alma Marchand, siblings Clifford, Leo, Aline Tellier, Maurice, daughter Janice Krzemien, grandson Matthew Marchand and son-in-law Ric Huson.
He will forever be in our hearts and he will be forever missed.
At Ernie’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Inurnment at a later date when his loved ones can gather and celebrate his life. Anyone wishing to make a donation is asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Pet and Wildlife Rescue or a charity of your choice.
