Ms. Erin Melissa Visser (nee Boender) passed away, with her mom by her side, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the age of 41 years. Erin was born on December 27, 1982, at Leduc, Alberta to Ed and Grace Boender, and was raised on the family Dairy Farm just southeast of Leduc, Alberta. She attended Covenant Christian School through to Grade Nine and then, attended Leduc Composite High School. After High School, she took nine months to volunteer with Father’s House, a Private Orphanage in Romania. Upon her return, she attended Red Deer College gaining a Social Work Diploma. She went on to fulfil her dream of becoming a mom, to her pride and joy, Evan, her greatest love. Her love of children led her to opening a day home in Blackfalds as well as being a foster parent. She dearly loved all the children who came into her care including her many nieces and nephews. Erin will be lovingly remembered by her son, Evan; her parents, Ed and Grace Boender; her siblings and their families, Janna (Kevin) Keulen (Seth, Megan, Kate, and Clara); Tim (Nolene) Boender (Liam, Spencer, and Cameron); Danielle (Byron) Sayer (Teagan, Kadence, Hayden and Daman); Ayleen (Luke) Mielke (Weston and Declan) and Daylon Boender; Evan’s father, and Jason (Becky) Visser; as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Erin was predeceased by her nephews, Joshua and Wyatt. A Memorial Service for Erin will be held at First Christian Reformed Church, 16 McVicar Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. For those unable to attend Erin’s Memorial Service in person, you may watch the Livestream at 1:00 p.m. at www.youtube.com/@FirstCRCRedDeer. If desired, Memorial Donations in Erin’s honor may be made directly to a Charity of the Donor’s choice. A Private Family Interment will be held at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
