Eric passed away surrounded by family at home on February 5, 2025, on his 73rd birthday of ALS. Eric leaves behind his wife Fran of 50 years, his sister Robyn (Osama), sister in laws Theresa (Joe), Nancy (Richard), Josephine (David), Pearl (Sal). Eric enjoyed spending time with all his nieces and nephews.
Eric was a car guy to the heart. Next to Fran if it didn’t burn gas and make noise he wasn’t interested. He started his career as a mechanic and moved up his career to Service Manager. He eventually launched out on his own as a distributor for Red Stallion which he successfully retired from in 2012.
Eric was a mentor to all who knew him. His mechanical knowledge and good sense was what some of his friends have said ‘he is the smartest person they knew’. He will be missed by all as he was kind, fun and always on the go.
Final farewell will be at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington ON L7P 2S7 on Friday, February 7th at 12:30, Service is at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ALS Society.
