Obituary of Emile Joseph Blinn
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emile Joseph Blinn of Digby on February 10, 2025. Born on May 20, 1942, he was the son of the late, Edward and Adele Blinn.
Emile was a man of many trades; at a young age he moved to the United States and became a butler and chauffer for a wealthy gentleman and his wife. Later, he developed and managed a Fina Gas Station where he was a mechanic. He also owned a consignment shop and drove a school bus and for 26 years he owned and operated a nursing home with his first wife, Debra. Emile knew the meaning of hard work and it showed in his ability to adapt to many trades throughout his lifetime. In his spare time Emile could be found in the woods surrounded by nature, Moose Hunting and Fishing or woodcarving horses, which was his passion.
Emile is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughter Michelle (Craig) of Doucetteville; sons, Chris of St. John, Joey (LeeAnn) of Digby and Jonathan (Ashley) of Tumbler Ridge, BC; grandchildren, Marcus, Ryan, Carrie, Aleah, Mia, Remington, Ava, Brooke, Addison and Walker; stepchildren, Robert and Julie; as well as step-grandchildren, Hunter, Jonah and Lindsey.
In addition to his parents, Emile was predeceased by his brother, Nelson; sisters, Rita, Annette, Marie, Margaret, and Pauline; as well as his first wife, Debra.
The family would like to give a heartfelt Thank You to Tideview and the caring and compassionate staff of Stehelin.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday February 22, 2025, at 11:00am in the Good Samaritan Community Church, North Range. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Conway, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
