Passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital in London on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Born in Owen Sound, Ontario on September 10, 1955, Ellen Marie Van Wyck was in her 70th year.
Loving mother of Herbert Van Wyck (Kereen Van Wyck) and Kevin Thompson (Ally Lake). Cherished grandma of Jason, Danielle, Kian, Destanny, Aleesha, Shanace, and Joseph. Dear sister of John, Fred, Jenny, Patty, Crystal, Michael, Lisa, and Rebecca. Special friend to Ronald Sprung. Ellen will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents John and Doris Van Wyck (nee Hillyer), and her siblings Orville and Clifford.
In keeping with Ellen’s wishes, cremation is taking place. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Grey Bruce Animal Shelter and the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated. Online condolences can be sent to Ellen’s family by visiting her memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
