It is with great sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Elizabeth Irene “Betty” Miller, of New Minas, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 in Grand View Manor, Berwick, at the age of 91. Born October 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Susie (Burns) Daniels.
Betty grew up in Windsor Forks. After graduating from Acadia University, she completed her education as dietician. She married Rev. Don Miller and spent many years in Hudson, Quebec raising a family. Upon Don’s passing, she returned to Nova Scotia with her two children. She eventually joined the faculty of Acadia University’s School of Nutrition and Home Economics where she worked until her retirement.
In her spare time Betty was a member of the United Church Women’s group and also helped with the University Women’s Club. She loved the arts and to travel.
Betty is survived by her son, John (Debbie), Bathurst, NB; daughter, Janet (Rodney McKiel), Moncton, NB; brother, Elliott Daniels, Windsor Forks; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the proud grandmother of Tara, Danielle and Branden and great-grandmother of Owyn and Oliver.
Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Donald Miller; brother, Kenneth Daniels.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where we will celebrate Betty’s life at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in funeral home chapel. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, 112-2719 Gladstone St., Halifax, NS B3K 4W6 would be appreciated.
