Obituary of Elizabeth “Betty” Gunn
It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth “Betty” Gunn (Stevenson), wife of Leonard Gunn, announce her passing which occurred on Monday, January 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 17, 1937, in New Glasgow, PE, she was a daughter of the late Lorne and Louise Stevenson.
Betty was one of a kind. She lived in the city for most of her 87 years, however she was a country girl at heart, growing up in the small village of New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island. Mom had an infectious sense of humour and loved her family. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as reading and of course BINGO. She was an amazing mother and wife. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her loving children: Kim Gunn (Mike), Sherry Ferris (Ducky), Debbie McHugh (Peter), Timmy Gunn (Heather), Tony Gunn, Jamie Gunn & Kenneth Gunn (Shelisa); 10 grand children; 14 great grandchildren; sisters: Pat Murphy (Earl) and Marilyn Ross (Ron); along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brothers: Erroyl, Barry and David Stephenson; grandson Jay Ferris, along with many extended family members.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. Relatives and friend are invited to attend a Celebration of Betty’s life on Monday, January 20, 2025, starting at 12:00 pm at Brenan’s Funeral Home. For those who wish, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of NB – Saint John Chapter or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
