August 19, 1939 – April 24, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Gibson, beloved wife of George Gibson, cherished mother of Elizabeth (Wayne), George (Kelly). Beloved grandmother to Ryan, Christopher, Cameron, Gavin, George, Patricia, Nicole, and Megan. Great-Grandmother to Elijah, Kiana, Kai, Ireland and Kaitlyn. Betty passed away peacefully beside her loving husband on April 24, 2025.
Betty was a woman who radiated warmth and kindness wherever she went. She was known for her infectious smile, boundless generosity, and her constant willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was family, friends, or even strangers, Betty’s heart was always open, and her compassion knew no bounds.
Her career at Peel Memorial Hospital spanned many years, and she spent thousands of hours volunteering at Peel Manor Nursing Home, where she touched countless lives with her dedication and caring nature.
Born in Scotland, Betty was one of many siblings who shared in the laughter, love, and traditions that defined her early years. She carried the values and spirit of her Scottish roots with her throughout her life, and her family was always at the center of her world. She was a proud mother and grandmother and the legacy of her love and care will live on in her children and grandchildren.
Betty’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and community, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to call her a friend.
Betty, you will forever be in our hearts.
