Elaine Marion Vowk
March 19, 1946 – January 27, 2025
Born to Rosemary and Albert Bailey in Wetaskiwin, Alberta Elaine later moved to Drayton Valley, where she met and married Peter Vowk of Easyford. There they raised four children on a large farm along the Pembina River. Elaine’s generosity for her family, her friends and her community was felt and appreciated by all. She enjoyed and took pride in being an active community member helping all those in need.
A caring, loving and proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she often boasted of her family and their accomplishments to all in her life. Her smile was radiant, and it was brightest when she was the happiest – laughing with her friends, camping and fishing, cooking over an open fire, target shooting, and exploring the countryside of Aberta and the Yukon.
She was an avid reader and could immerse herself deeply and complete a book in a day when not consumed with farm chores and family needs. She had the greenest of thumbs, and could grow the most lovely gardens and flowers to share with others and to adorn the yard and house. Her gardens and yard flowers would attract the most beautiful birds to listen and watch, always enjoyed by the grand and great grandchildren.
Although she is gone, her spirit will live in our hearts always.
She is survived by her four children, Bradley Vowk (Carol), Jaymie Vowk (Sherry), Preston Vowk and Lisa-Marie Vowk; grandchildren, Garrett, Gregory, Colton, Koryn, Bailey and Katelyn and also five beautiful great-grandchildren whom she adored.
Proceeded in death by husband, Peter Vowk, her parents, and her three sisters.
Elaine wishes to be at final rest in Dawson City, Yukon alongside her husband, Peter. A small gathering will be hosted at a future date for close friends and family.
