Obituary of Efstratios Stratos “Steve” Labrinos
In Loving Memory of Efstratios Stratos “Steve” Labrinos
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Labrinos, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, who left us peacefully on Friday March 14th, 2025, at the age of 88. Steve was born on May 26, 1936, in Mystras, Sparta Greece, where he spent his early years surrounded by the love of his family and the beautiful mountain terrain of Mystras, where his love of nature and the outdoors developed.
Stratos dedicated his life to his family and community. He worked at Wonder Bakery for the majority of his life and retired from there. Stratos was an avid gardener and proud to share his skills and his fruits and vegetables with family, friends and neighbours. Stratos was a devout Greek Orthodox christian who was deeply rooted in his faith. His love of the outdoors extended to being an expert beekeeper and he shared his honey with all. Stratos would spend countless hours in the countryside and in the wild, fishing for trout and hunting for pheasants, jack rabbits, and deer. It was in nature that he found true peace and joy.
Steve was a devoted husband to Evanthia who passed away on October 25, 2012, and loving father to his daughter Tasia Anagnopoulos (Kostas). and his grandchildren Peter and Evanthia, who will forever cherish the happy memories they created together.
Steve is survived by his brother and neighbour, Dimitris Lambrinos, (late Helen), of London Ontario. Eleni Kakaletris (Demitris) of Toronto. Predeceased by his brother Nikos Labrinos (Evangelia) of Mystras Greece and his sister Panagiota Kritikos (Demitris) of Chigaco, USA.
Stratos will be sadly missed by his immediate family, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. A heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional and compassionate care he received from Harris House nursing and support staff at McGarrell Place.
Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in his memory.
Arrangements entrusted to Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (519-433-6181).
