Remembering Edna
Edna Grace Langille – 82, Tatamagouche, passed away peacefully in East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, on March 10, 2025. Born in West New Annan, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Annie (Miller) Rushton. She is survived her daughter, Sherry (Peter Redmond); grandson, Dakota Redmond; one sister, Florence (Wayne) Cochrane; six nieces; several great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Edna was predeceased by her brothers, Aubrey, Frank and Bill; sisters, Mary Rushton and Elizabeth Byers; sister-in-law, Irene Rushton; former husband, Ken Langille as well as common law husband, Laurie Warwick.
In her early years, Edna worked in Truro, Halifax and Dartmouth until she returned to Tatamagouche in 1996 to be near her family. She was a member of the West New Annan United Church and a lifelong member of AA.
She enjoyed listening to country and western music and was always ready to lend a hand to family and friends.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff of East Cumberland Lodge for all their kindness and excellent care over the years and for making Mum comfortable in her final days. As per Edna’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A family Graveside Service will take place at a later date in Bell Gift Cemetery, West New Annan. Memorial Donations in Edna’s memory may be made to the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital or to the East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Arrangements are under the direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home in Tatamagouche.
