Philion, Edmond “Ed”
Edmond “Ed” Philion passed away peacefully but suddenly on May 2, 2025, in Es, Ontario, at the age of 76.
Ed was a devoted father to Ed (Ann) Philion, Chris (Kristy) Philion, Chantal (Mark O’Brien) Philion, and Cory Philion. He was also a beloved stepfather to Wendy (Jeff) Nantais and Scott (Vicki) St. Louis. Ed was predeceased by his son Keith Philion and stepson Wade (Kathy) St. Louis.
He was a cherished grandfather to Zach, Brett, Tyler, Matthew, Emily, Ryan, Shannon, Collin, Jamie, Jack (Prabh), Chance, Creed, Chandler and Preston. His legacy continues through his great-grandson Zander. Ed was predeceased by his wife Diane Philion (née Nantais).
Throughout his life, Ed formed deep bonds with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His personality and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ed dedicated many years of service to General Motors before retiring. In his leisure time, he found joy in fishing—especially ice fishing—and cheering on his favorite hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens. In his spare time, he really enjoyed playing euchre and crib any chance he had. He had a special fondness for his farm in Field, Ontario and enjoyed spending time with friends at the Hook N’ Ladder. Above all else he adored his family and grandkids. He never missed a chance to attend his son Ed’s Football Games and watching his grandkids in all their favorite sports.
If you so desire, donations to COPD Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has taken place. On Thursday, May, 8th memorial visitation will be held from 4pm – 7pm, at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841.
