Edith Flora Jane Morrissey (nee Driscoll)
It is with great sadness and heavenly hope that the family of Edith Flora Jane Morrissey (nee Driscoll) announce her homegoing on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the age of 88 at Shannex Neill Hall in Fredericton, NB.
Edith was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Joseph Morrissey; her parents, George and Ameilia Driscoll; sister, Kathleen; step-brother, Angus; and a very special niece, Pauline (“Polly”). Edith is survived by her two children Sharon Adamson (Doug) and Trevor Morrissey (Lesleigh); six beautiful grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Hannah, Ryan, Meredith and Ian; two special nieces, Eileen Kehoe (Jack) and Marie (“Mimi”) Woodrow (Richard).
Edith’s homegoing is also keenly felt by three of her closest friends, Isobel George, Annabelle King, and Lenora Broennle, and many friends in her church family, First Baptist Church, Mount Pearl, NL.
Edith’s family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for all the love, care and support shown to Edith while residing at Eden’s Retirement Villa and Shannex Neill Hall both of Fredericton NB. The family would also like to offer sincere thanks for the wonderful love and care shown to Edith by her church family at First Baptist Church. The many meals, phone calls to check in, transportation to appointments and church services are greatly appreciated.
Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s, NL on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The celebration of Edith’s life will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1 Ambassador Place, Mount Pearl, NL. This service will also be livestreamed on the Facebook page of First Baptist Church and also on YouTube. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 53 James Lane, St. John’s.
