EDA SPUZAK (nee Manza)
With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Eda in the early hours of February 15th. She was a long term resident of Park Manor Personal Care Home, and lived to a remarkable 103 years of age.
Eda will be sadly missed by her daughter and son-in-law Mary-Ann and Richard Woroniak, many nieces and nephews, and her Park Manor family.
Eda was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Myron; parents Maria and Joseph Manza; sisters and brothers-in-law Jean and Wilfred Markel, Helen and Guido Porco; brothers and sisters-in-law Peter and Rose Manza, Fred and Josie Manza; brother-in-law Nestor and wife Mary Spuzak; nieces Geraldine Atamanchuk and Marietta Wolenter.
Eda was born and raised in Transcona when there were no sidewalks or paved roads. She lived her entire life there and was proud of it. She was born on Regent Avenue (where the East End Community Club now stands) on a small farm where she helped her father deliver milk by horse and wagon.
Eda loved to ride her bike everywhere around town and continued to do so well into her 60’s. She loved her garden and flowers, sewing and baking for others; everyone loved her biscotti and loaf cakes, not to mention her delicious perogies. If a friend or relative was in need, she was always there for them.
We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Park Manor for the care and compassion shown to Eda and our family over the past 14 years.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
