It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our Douglas Brinson, in his sleep, on December 26, 2024 in Stony Plain, AB.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon; as well as children, Cindy (Jason), Todd (Tammie) and Trudy (Mike); his grandkids; Britton, William, Theron, Lucas, Camilla, Allyson, Makena and Julia; and his beloved fur baby, Poppy. He will also be sadly missed by his siblings, Fran (Doria), Beth, Dan (Diane), Jim and Lynne (Ken); his sister-in law, Gwen (Paul); his brothers-in-law, Stu (Linda), Glen (Louise), Jim (Marti), and Rob; as well as best friend Bill (Ruth) and many other friends and family members.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Frank; as well as his brother Ross (Terry); his brother-in-law Joe.
Doug was born and raised in Rossland, BC. He was posted to Alberta where he had a 30 year career with the RCMP. He later worked security at the Alberta Legislature for 15 years. He was a constant source of dad jokes and his offbeat humour will be very missed.
In keeping with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Stony Plain Good Samaritan care facility for treating Doug like a king for the past 19 months.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Society of Canada.
Arrangements entrusted to Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home.
