Douglas Joseph Fournier Obituary
The family of Douglas (Dougie) Joseph Fournier sadly announce his passing which occurred on March 6, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his daughters by his side. He was born on December 10, 1956, in Saint John, NB. Douglas was predeceased by his loving wife of almost 45 years, which is correct Dad.
Douglas leaves behind his daughters Tanya (Shawn) Creamer and Crystal (Stephane) Michaud. He had a bond with his grandsons Rene Michaud and Lucas Michaud like no other. Grampy is very proud of you both and everything that you have accomplished so far in life, and you will both continue to make him proud. He also had a special place in his heart for his great grandson Myles.
Douglas always enjoyed his fishing and hunting trips until he got sick and was not able to go anymore. Even though he could not physically go he was there in spirit as he always talked about fishing and hunting. He enjoyed watching his westerns or war movies.
Dad you are now back with Mom and happy as you have missed her so much in the short 9 months that she has been gone. Hope you both have the best eternal life together.
Douglas also leaves behind a sister Olive Oram of Saint John, Mother in law Mary (Wilcox) Doucette, his God children Sabrina and Cody, his good friend Raymond (Cowboy) Beyea, sister in law Judy Fournier and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his mother Hazel (Freeze) Fournier and Father Lawrence Fournier, his brothers Daniel “Danny”, John, Charles and Bruce, his sisters Verna Yoston, Helen Bond, Roberta “Cookie” Ferguson, Alice Vickers, Pauline O’Rourke and Gloria Davis.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital on 5CN, you are all angels and went above and beyond to take care of our Dad. You took care of him so well 2 years ago that he requested to be on your floor if possible when he was admitted this time as he truly cared for you all.
In staying with Douglas wishes there will be no visitation or service. For those who wish to make a donation of remembrance can be made to the extra mural program or to Bobby’s Hospice, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
