Dorothy May Heinbuch Obituary
Dorothy May Heinbuch, age 84, a resident of Spruce Lodge, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 25, 2025. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Idella (Schippling) Mank.
Predeceased by her husband Gerald (Red) Heinbuch July 29, 2005. Loving mother of the late Cindy Atchison (Dennis), Terry Heinbuch (Beverley), Cathy Heinbuch, Tom Heinbuch (Lesley), Connie Puetz (Manny). Grandmother of Erin Atchison (Mike), Kristin Stam, Trisha Heinbuch (Tristan), Kyle Heinbuch (Stephanie), Chad Heinbuch (Cindy), Katelyn Vere, Laura Vere, Matt Stone (Carys), Sara Stone-Ropp, Benjamin Heinbuch (Lynae), Nicholas Puetz, Lydia Puetz. Great grandmother of Jesse, Ava (deceased), Logan, Fina, Maxwell, Emmett, Abbygail, Aly, Emily, Bethan, Gwennan, Daron, Nolan, Ila. Sister of Marjorie Walsh (Ernie) – both deceased, Carol Cook – deceased (George), Fred Mank (Christine), Helen Fetter, John Mank – deceased (Mary), Ken Mank (Sharron), Darlene Reynolds (Gerry). Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
We, her family, hit the Bingo Jackpot with Dorothy as our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom loved sitting down for a game of cards with family and friends as well as celebrating special occasions with a crowd. Cheering all of us on from the stands, at any of the many sporting events we participated in over the years, was a favourite pastime. Mom was a true selfless caregiver, devoting her life to taking care of anyone who needed her help. It is easy to say that Mom was a hardworking, reliable, resourceful woman who was loved and will be missed by many.
We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the attentive staff at Spruce Lodge for taking great care of Mom over the past five years, and especially during this last week.
A family graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be announced in the future. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of one’s choice. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
