Obituary of Doris Lilla Colp
COLP, Doris Lilla, Halifax, Age 91
It is with a heavy heart that we announce Doris Colp passed away on June 19, 2025. Born in East Chester on August 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Sceva Moland. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Doris found joy in simple pleasures, such as completing puzzles, playing Bingo at the Timberlea Firehall and Bedford Legion, and observing the beauty of birds and butterflies. She was known for her love of Newfoundland music, her enthusiasm for game shows, and her enjoyment of long, scenic drives with Noble.
Doris was married to Noble Colp, whom she affectionately always called “Babe” for 68 years. She was a devoted wife, visiting him daily in his care home and providing unwavering support and love.
Doris was predeceased by her loving husband, Noble Dawson Colp; brothers, Charles Moland, Chester Moland, and Delson Moland; and sister, Sylvia Soles.
Doris is survived by her son, Timothy Colp and his wife, Gina Keeping; daughter, Shelley Evans. Doris is also survived by grandchildren, Myles Evans, Tyler Evans, and Matthew Pottie-Colp, and Jacqline Pottie-Colp.
A special thank you to Dr. Scovil for providing Doris with many years of excellent care. You gave us the gift of having so many years with our mother and helped her live so independently. We are truly blessed.
Cremation has been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Halifax. In keeping with Doris’ wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Doris’ memory to St Andrew’s Anglican Church.
