Obituary of Doreen Smith
Miriam “Doreen” Smith passed into spirit peacefully on Friday, January 10th, 2025, in her 95th year.
Beloved wife of 71 years to the late Harold Smith. Loving mother of Rick (Kathie), Valerie (Paul Milliken) and the late Penny Vermeulen (Benny Vermeulen).
Proud grandma of Jeff, Roxanne (Ivan), Greg, Mike (Alek’s), Jeff (Courtney), Justin (Val), and Jody. Cherished great-grandfather of Lake, Kailey, Gracie, Andrea, Owen, Kali, Sadie, Hudson, Trent, Jayden, and Gage. Dear sister of Norma Martin and loving aunt of Dave Peat and Leslie and Barry Malpage. Sister-in-law of Don (Lorene) Smith and the late Mary Ramsay, Edna Hall, Helen Telfer and Bill Smith.
Doreen was a lifelong resident of Mount Brydges. She took great joy in serving her community; she was a lifelong member of the Women’s Institute, a dedicated member of the Mount Brydges United Church Women’s group and for year’s helped to organize the annual Farmer’s Dinner at the Mount Brydges Community center.
As per Doreen’s wishes, cremation has already taken place.
A Visitation to offer condolences will be held on Sunday January 19th, 2025, from 3pm until 5pm at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home, 22424 Adelaide Road, Mount Brydges.
A private family Inurnment at Mount Brydges Cemetery to be held at a later date.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society London & Middle or Canadian Cancer Society.
