Mrs. Doreen Ellen Gamble, age 82 years, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Care Group on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Doreen was born in Kakabeka Falls, Ontario on October 23, 1942, the youngest of the 4 children of Melville and Alice Wright. A lifetime resident of the area Doreen worked at Simpson Sears, ran a bookkeeper firm, owned Tiny’s Restaurant, Norell Tree Farms and Native Arts and Crafts. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii. The most important thing in her life was her family, especially her grandson Edward. Doreen will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughter Michelle (Chad Beaver) Gamble, grandson Edward and niece Tracey Johnson. She was predeceased by her husband Brian, parents Melville and Alice Wright, brothers Edward and Clifford Wright, sister May Pollock and niece Donna Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street. The interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation for friends will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Chapel. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the T.B.R.H.S. Foundation-Cardiac Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
