Doreen Alexander Obituary
Doreen Viola (Alles) (Leeson) Alexander, age 85, of Stratford, passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Born in Logan Township, daughter of the late Henry Conrad and Viola Ida (Diehl) Alles. Doreen was predeceased by her first husband Gerald Leeson (October 7,2024) and by her second husband Victor John Alexander (December 30, 2005). Proud and loving mother of Laurie (Wayne) Nigh and Sheri (Stephen)Kompf. Grandmother of Erin, Emily, Aidan, Ethan, Jacob, Hannah (Alvin), Ada Rose and great grandmother of Elijah and Isaiah. Doreen will be remembered by her siblings; George (Catherine) Alles, Marlene Alles and Barbara (Stuart) Kahle.
Doreen worked in administration before her retirement for Member of Parliament Harry Brightwell, she was a longtime member of Second St. John Lutheran Church (Wartburg) and a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Besides her husbands and her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her grandson Adam and her brother Ken Alles and his wife Jennifer.
Family and friends are invited to Doreen’s visitation on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford and on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Second St. John Lutheran Church (Wartburg) 4802 Line 42, Sebringville, ON. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service. Private family interment in Avondale Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Emily Murphy Centre or Optimism Place through the funeral home. www.wgyoungfunerlahome.com
