Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday March 17, 2025 at 84 years of age. Very fitting, as St. Patty’s Day was her favourite celebrated holiday. Reunited with her loving husband and high-school sweetheart Jimmy (2009), with whom she celebrated 46 years of marriage. Cherished mother of Karen Presello (Norm), Allison McAfrey (Nathalie) and Marc McAfrey (Catherine). Treasured Mema of Loren Mashburn (Tyler), Nicholas Presello (Michelle), Daniel Presello, Aidan and Lucas McAfrey; as well as Great-Mema of Rhett and Kenton Mashburn. Survived by her siblings Laurene Lesperance (Tom) and Ron O’Neil (Nola). She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and countless friends.
Donna graduated from Grace Hospital Nursing in 1962, where she started as an OR nurse, she then worked for the Windsor and Es Health Unit doing immunizations at local schools, and later practiced as a nurse at Ford Motor Company.
She loved Detroit Tigers, and was always present for her kids and grandkids Baseball games and sporting events. She was an active member of the Windsor South Canadians Little League.
Donna and Jim spent many winters retired in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and made many lifelong friends.
She will be missed by the residents and staff of Kensington Court Retirement Home where she spent her last few years and was involved in all recreational activities. She will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her.
