Stewart; Donald Simpson
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at home in Dundalk on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Ella. Loving father of Don(Lorraine Braschuk) of Ottawa, Sandra(Tom) Ayotte of Wheatley and Heather(the late Bob) Huestis of Chicago, IL. Loved and remembered by grandchildren Natasha(Michael), Brittany, Tom(Ashley), Nicole(Jeff), Bob(Ariel) and great grandchildren Landon, Talon, Makaila, Logan, Emily, Ethen, Zachary, Noah, Carter, Makenzie.
Don was born in Scotland to George and Catherine Stewart on July 7, 1937. After he completed schooling, he and his brother set off for adventure and employment in abundance in Canada. At a social dance for new Canadians one night, he met the love of his life, Ella, who just happened to be Scottish as well. After years of hard work and raising their family, retirement came calling along with a desire for fresh air. Dundalk is where they found their new home and a community they fit right into. Don was proud member of the Prince Arthur Lodge, #333 and will be missed greatly by brethren. He had a passion for his hot rod, aviation and photography.
Cremation has taken place and as per Donald’s request, no service will be help. If desired, memorial contributions to Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Online donations and condolences at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca
