It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving father, Donald Hall on Tuesday February 11, 2025 at Gilmore Lodge. Beloved husband of the late Mary Joan Katherine Hall (d. 2024). Adoring father of Michael (d. 2018), Danny, Dawne Gangarossa (Tony) and Steven (Stephanie). Cherished grandfather of Tyler, Jordy, Lauren, Connor, Chris and Brendan. Proud great grandfather of Isabella, Everly and Ethan. He was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Mabel and his siblings Betty, Mildred, Bobby, Pat, Billy, Donna and Gerry. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Donnie was a sports fanatic and loved the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and the Buffalo Bills. He was a proud member of the 1954 OBA Fort Erie Junior “A” Champions. He was then drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers as a catcher and played in their farm system. His team was also inducted into the Fort Erie Sports Wall of Fame in 2009. He spent his entire 42 year working career at Horton CBI as a traffic manager. In addition to his passion for sports, he was a respected coach for many teams over the years in both hockey and baseball. His true joy though was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending all of their events.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the nursing and support staff who cared for him over the last few months.
A visitation will commence on Saturday February 15th, 2025 at Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Avenue, Fort Erie, from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Internment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Niagara Willson House Fort Erie. Celebration of Life to follow at the Fort Erie Legion Branch #71.
