Donald “Gordon” Lobban, of Nanton, Alberta passed away on January 18, 2025. Gordon was the youngest son of Edna Maud McIntosh (Lobban) and Albert Henry Lobban. He is survived by his two sons, Keith Alexander Lobban and Scott Henry Lobban. Gordon was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Maxine Smith (Lobban), daughter Laura Lee Lobban, and his siblings Margaret, Edith, Elizabeth, Walter (Clark) Edna and James.
Gordon was born on a homestead north of Brownvale, AB in the Peace River area. Earlier in his life he spent time working surveying throughout Alberta and settled in Nanton to become a carpenter with Edna’s husband Jim, where he and Evelyn raised their family. Gordon was a passionate hunter and enjoyed sports in his younger years, later moving to playing pool, and cribbage in his older years. He loved driving around and enjoying the countryside and mountains.
We will all miss Gordon. He lived an honest, generous and full life, teaching his sons good life skills and values.
