It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Gilbert Verch at the age of 83, on Sunday March 9, 2025, surrounded by loving family, at the Ottawa General Hospital.
Don was the much-loved husband of Gail (Pond) for 59 years. Cherished father of Lisa (Dave), Mark (Stacy), Erin (Amro). Proud “Grampy” of Hollie, Alex and Brooke. He will also be greatly missed by his brother Jim (Peggy).
Donald was predeceased by parents Gilbert and Elga (Chatsick), his brother Garry as well as his son Kent.
He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Don’s greatest love was his family. His favorite pastimes were woodworking, fishing and sitting on the patio beside the lake chatting with whoever stopped by for a visit.

Visitation will be held at the Zohr Family Funeral Home, Eganville, on Friday March 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday March 15th 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service to follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Germanicus, at 11:00 a.m.. Spring internment.
Donations in memory of Don may be made to local food bank, Humane Society, or charity of your choice.
