Taylor, Donald (Dint) Ford (March 28, 1936 – March 17, 2025)
Donald (Dint) Ford Taylor of Simcoe passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, in his 89th year. Don was born to Albert & Simone (Chrysler) Taylor on March 28,1936 in Charlotteville Township. Don is survived by his children Dawn (Ted) Phillips, Eric “Ike” Taylor, Ken (Kelly) Taylor, Nance (Kent) Taylor. Grandfather to Dawn (Teds) children Christa (Joshua), Laura, Teddy, Timmy (Tanya), Eric’s children Nikki (Christopher), Hailey (Mark), Taegan, Ken (Kelly’s) son Brock (Justine), Nance’s children Neylan & Kortland. He leaves behind 9 Great-grandchildren. Dint is survived by his half brother John Sherman and many cousins, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Ina Smith, Genevieve Hegmans, June Bannister, Albert Taylor and his half brother James Sherman.
Dint could strike up a conversation with anybody and could always find some sort of connection with them. A man who began moving most of the buildings in Norfolk County and surrounding areas at the age of 18 until well into his 80’s. A legend on the track who made his mark in the horse racing world. A friend to many that he met during his travels and lifetime, he was one of a kind. Dint will be greatly missed by his family & friends.
The family would like to invite everyone to come help celebrate Dint’s life at the Army & Navy in Simcoe on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 1:00 – 4:00pm. We would like to express a special thank you to the Doctors & Nurses at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital as well as Doctor Mayer from the Mayer Institute in Hamilton for being so caring & compassionate with our Dad. Also, we’d like to say thank you to the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Home for guiding us through this difficult time.
