Donald “Donnie” Noonan
1957-2025
It
is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald
“Donnie” Merrill Noonan on January 29, 2025, after a
courageous battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully, surrounded
by loved ones, at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside,
PEI.
Born
on January 31, 1957, to the late Sterling and Doris Noonan (nee
Dawson) of Albany, PEI. Donnie was a devoted father, partner, and
brother. He is survived by his beloved sons, Timmy Reeves and Jason
Rogers. Donnie was also a loving partner to Sherri MacDonald, who
provided him with unwavering love and support and was a caring
stepfather to Joel MacDonald. He was also a loving dog dad to Tygo,
who brought him much joy and companionship.
Donnie
was predeceased by his twin brother, Daniel Noonan, and will be dearly
missed by his surviving siblings, Donna (Ken) Cox, Alan Noonan, and
Joanie (Dale) McMurrer.
The
family extends a special thank you to the Home Care team who provided
compassionate care and kept Donnie comfortable for as long as possible
at home. Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to the dedicated staff,
doctors, and nurses at Prince County Hospital who worked tirelessly in
the palliative and medical units to ensure Donnie received the best
possible care during his final
days.
Resting at Lawless Funeral Home in Kinkora, PE, Donnie’s
family invites friends and loved ones to join in celebrating his life
at a later date, which will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the
family kindly requests that donations in Donnie’s memory be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Donnie’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those
who loved him. He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and
resilience, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he
rest in peace.
